Audio Files

  • All audio files are stored in three formats (listed below). Most browsers are able to play .wav and .au files, but (depending on your Internet connection speed) they may take a considerable time to download. If you are using a modem or experiencing delays in receiving the .wav or .au files, we recommend using the RealAudio player and the .ra files. RealAudio Player Download Page
  • File Formats contained in the Textbook:
    • .wav (IBM-PC native wave files) - largest files/highest quality
    • .au (Sun .au format) - smaller files/reduced quality
    • .ra (Real Audio format) - streamed audio data (Best for Modems).
